  1. Locate the programming “P” button on your garage door opener. This is a small button located on the back of the unit (older models it might be on the bottom side of the unit facing the ground)
  2. Press and hold the “P” button for 3 seconds then release the Programming “P” button. This get you into the programming modes “First Menu” which is for programming your openers up limit which doesn’t apply to programming a new remote.
  3. Press and release the programming “P” button (this is the 2nd time pressing the “P” button) which gets you into the openers “Second Menu” which is for programming your openers down limit which doesn’t again doesn’t apply for remote programming
  4. Press and release the programming “P” button (this is the 3rd time pressing the “P” button) which gets you into the openers “Third Menu” which is the CORRECT MENU for programming a new remote.
  5. Press and hold the button on the Marantec hand held remote that you want to program for approximately 3 seconds then release.
  6. Press and release the programming “P” button (this is the 4th time pressing the “P” button) which gets you out of programming. If you only needed to program 1 remote then you are all done.If you have additional remotes that need to be programmed continue following these additional steps below:
    1. You will need to get a Marantec remote “jumper”. This is a TINY device that is used to transfer programming from a programmed Marantec remote to a non programmed Marantec remote.

    2. Put the jumper into the side of programmed remote. Then connect the non-programmed remote to the other side of the jumper. This will connect the 2 remotes together with the jumper being in the middle.

    3. Press and hold button on the PROGRAMMED REMOTE FIRST. While holding the button on the programmed remote first, THEN press and hold the button you want programmed on the non-programmed remote (at this point your holding both buttons simultaneously).
